I absolutely love teaching ASL and have been teaching for over 10 years now. I get so excited opening student minds to this amazing, beautiful language. With me as your teacher you will be speaking ASL in no time. Not only will you learn how to communicate effectively, but you will also learn about deaf culture, furthering your understanding of the language and the Deaf community. I can’t wait to get started with you!
My Story
I have been in love with ASL since I was a child. I have Deaf family members, my best friend is Deaf, and I am Hard of Hearing so I have spoken the language a long time. I attended NW Florida State where I studied ASL and graduated with honors. Since then I have gone on to teach ASL in community programs and performing ASL songs in multiple different states for shows and festivals. Students in my class can expect to learn at their own pace. Each student is unique and so if your a fast learner, I will never hold you back. If you need more time we can always take it slow. If there is something specific you need help with we can focus on that. I am here for you, and am always available to answer questions, even out of class. Your success means everything to me and together we can accomplish your goal. Let’s get started!
ASL Lessons
All lessons will take place online over zoom. Once you sign up for a lesson, you will receive an email with a zoom link which you can use to meet with me at the time of your lesson. All lesson materials will be provided to you at no extra cost. Each lesson we will cover not only vocabulary but important aspects of Deaf Culture as well.
